The Authority is created under the Emergency Services Telecommunications Act 2004 (the ESTA Act).
It comprises a board of up to nine Members who together set ESTA’s strategic direction; oversight financial management; monitor performance; identify areas of significant business risk; and have overall responsibility for ESTA's compliance and corporate governance. The Authority also appoints the Chief Executive Officer and undertaking the CEO’s performance reviews.
The Authority reports to the Minister for Emergency Services and also reports to and consults with the ESTA Advisory Committee.
